EU agrees to discuss recognition of Palestine State: Diplomat

The European Union agreed to discuss a number of Palestinian proposals related to recognition of the State of Palestine, rejection of the establishment of Israeli settlements and cancelation of the economic partnership agreement with Israel, Palestinian Ambassador to the EU Abdel-Rahim al-Farra has revealed.

Speaking to the Voice of Palestine radio on Thursday, Farra said that the meetings of the EU-Palestinian Subcommittee on a number of sectors included a political dialogue to discuss the recognition of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and complete rejection of Israeli settlement.

He added that the Palestinian side focused on the role that must be assumed by Europe to recognize the State of Palestine, noting that the talks are underway to conclude a full EU-Palestinian partnership agreement.
