Minister for Finance and Revenue, Miftah Ismail says the government is making all-out efforts to address the issues of governance and circular debt.

Talking to a private television channel, he said the government is taking steps to facilitate the farmer community by shifting tube wells to solar energy.

Replying to a question, the Finance Minister said the government has imposed taxes on elite class while reduced the tax on poor people.

About high petroleum prices, he said tough decisions had to be taken to steer the country out of current economic crisis.

Miftah Ismail said the government has now reduced the petroleum prices and transferred relief to the masses.

To a question about revenue generation, he said the government is planning to generate 30 to 40 billion rupees from trade sector. He said fix tax will also be imposed on shopkeepers.
