Indian-backed Proxies to be Defeated: Attaullah Tarar


Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has expressed the firm resolve to defeat the Indian-backed proxies perpetrating terrorism in Pakistan. Speaking in the National Assembly today, he strongly denounced the attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan. He said investigation into the incident is being carried out and those behind it will be brought to justice.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister said this cowardly attack was carried out after the enemy faced a humiliating defeat from the valiant armed forces in conventional warfare. He stated that Pakistan destroyed the Indian airbases and Rafale jets, and the Indian proxies such as Fitnat-ul-Khwarij are insignificant in the face of the nation’s strength and resolve. He reaffirmed the commitment to eliminate the Indian-backed proxies and terrorism.



Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said the nation is proud of its armed forces for delivering a robust response to the Indian aggression. He stated that although India claims to be a victim of terrorism, it is itself involved in sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan.



Taking the floor, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said Pakistan delivered a crushing defeat to India in the battlefield and it faced embarrassment on every front. He said India is now resorting to sponsoring cowardly attacks as the one which took place in Khuzdar, and the Indian-backed proxies will be dealt with iron hands. He said the country’s security forces are firm in their determination to weed out terrorism.



In his remarks, Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi said Pakistan’s image has significantly improved at the global stage following its victory against Indian aggression. He said the world now recognizes that the Pakistani nation is strong and capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Other members also condemned the attack on school children in Khuzdar, saying this manifests the cowardice of India. They said Indian acts pose a threat to regional peace and stability and the international community should take notice of it.



The National Assembly was informed today that negotiations are underway with different countries to secure more scholarships for Pakistani students abroad. Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui told the House during the Question Hour that the government has actively pursued numerous foreign collaborations and strategic partnerships to enhance the quality, inclusivity, and international standing of Pakistan’s education sector. He said under CPEC, collaborative projects include student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, scholarships for Pakistani students, and establishment of Confucius Institutes in Pakistani universities.



Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said a renewed effort will be made after June this year with the cooperation of provinces to introduce a coordinated education system in the country. In his remarks, Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce Zulfiqar Ali Khan told the House a new textile policy will be introduced by July this year to boost exports of textiles and apparel. He said the exports of value-added goods have increased by thirty-five percent over the last five years. Taking the floor, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Saad Waseem Sheikh said the FBR through its field formations has been continuously striving for increasing the tax base.
