ISESCO chief to begin Tunisia visit today

Rabat Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri will arrive Tuesday in Tunisia for a five-day working visit to the North African nation.

Altwaijri's trip to Tunisia comes in response to an invitation from both Tunisian Minister of Cultural Affairs Mohamed Zine El Abidine and President of the Tunisian Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) Chawki Tabib.

During the visit, the director general will participate in the official inauguration of the City of Culture, under the supervision and in the presence of President Beji CaA�d Essebsi. He will also take part in the 2nd International Forum on the New Cultural Roles of Civil Society in Promoting and Disseminating Good Governance Culture.

The forum will be organized by ISESCO and INLUCC, in collaboration with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), under the patronage of President Essebsi in the capital Tunis on March 23-24.

Also during the visit, Altwaijri will sign a cooperation agreement with the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies (ITES) and a cooperation program with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for 2018-2019.

The ISESCO director general is set to be honored on March 22, on the occasion of Carthage Poetry Days.
