Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Syed Murtaza Mahmud has appreciated the Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy and stressed for facilitating the sector to start motherboard assembly in Pakistan by next year.
He was chairing a briefing session in Islamabad on Friday on Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy 2020.
The Minister emphasized the need for establishing Research and Development Center for transfer of technology and skill development pertaining to mobile manufacturing sector.
He said this would enhance footprint of mobile manufacturing industry in competitive export market.
Earlier, the Minister was given briefing that the policy aimed at encouraging and attracting mobile manufacturers to establish their units in Pakistan.
He was told that the policy attracted more than 76 million dollar investments along with direct employment generation for thousands of people.
