OIC chief lauds King Salman’s support for Palestinian people

Dhahran (UNA-OIC) Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen praised the announcement by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to donate $150 million in support of the Islamic endowments in Jerusalem, and another $50 million for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Al-Othaimeen considered the announcement, which came during the 29th Arab Summit in Saudi Arabia's city of Dhahran, as a continuation of the firm historical positions and constant support provided by the prudent Saudi leadership to the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The secretary general also commended King Salman's decision to name the Arab League summit as the "Jerusalem Summit", in confirmation of Jerusalem's status in the Arab and Islamic world. He said both the king's initiatives to provide assistance and name the summit as the "Jerusalem Summit" support the efforts and activities of the OIC, which was founded for the sake of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
