Jeddah (UNA-OIC) � The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) voiced its strong condemnation of the recent escalation of terrorist attacks and suicide bombings targeting the government and civilians in public space in Afghanistan.
OIC Secretary General Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen strongly condemned Tuesday's blast in Kandahar city, which claimed the lives of at least 16 people and injured many others. He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.
Al-Othaimeen reiterated OIC's policy of support to Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace initiatives and underscored that the Organization and its member states are unconditionally committed to peace, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan.
