Pakistan Air Force is fully committed and determined to defend the aerial frontiers of motherland against any external aggression with full force.
This was echoed by PAF serving and retired officers during a special transmission of News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan in connection with the PAF Day, which was observed today (Wednesday).
Speaking in the program, Squadron Leader Amir Abdullah said India’s eternal dream of becoming a regional hegemonic power with no bridles has always been quashed by Pakistan time and again. He said in all wars with India, including in the 1965 one, Pakistan Air Force gave a befitting response to Indian aggression and their vital infrastructure and targets were accurately hit. He said PAF’s focus has always remained on quality and not quantity to achieve its objectives. He said in 1965 war main forward bases of India at Halwara and Pathankot were precisely targeted which Indians were not expecting at all.
Taking part in the program, Retired Air Marshal Shahid Latif said the accomplishments of PAF in 1965 war have become a world record. He said Squadron Leader M M Alam and Squadron Leader Sarfraz Rafiqui set historical examples in the air war which are a lesson for the coming generations. He said nations do not win wars by machines only, rather it is man behind machine and his professionalism that matters. Retired Air Marshal said PAF’s downing of 2 Indian Aircraft in February 27, 2019 clearly manifested Pakistan’s superiority on their Indian counterparts. He said the power of PAF has improved after the induction of JF-17 and J10 aircraft. He said Pakistan has indigenously produced JF17 aircraft which is a marvellous achievement of the country whereas domestic production of an Indian aircraft is still facing challenges.
Retired Air Vice Marshal Ikramullah Bhatti while talking in the program said mission of the nation is very important in any war. He recalled the wording of President Ayub Khan in which he had said the enemy had no idea which country it had challenged, enthralling the armed forces and the nation with a new spirit. The supreme objective of Pakistan in 1965 war was to defend the country against the nemesis at all costs. He said whole nation stood by their armed forces to boost their morale to defeat the enemy in their nefarious designs. He said this national spirit can help us overcome any challenge we face. Retired Air Marshal Ikramullah Bhatti said PAF holds excellence due to its professionalism, training and support of the people.
Referring to PAF’s role in relief activities in flood hit areas of Pakistan, Squadron Leader Saad Ahsan Javed informed that PAF has been carrying out sorties to provide flood relief supplies in far flung and hard to travel areas of the country. He said PAF aircraft are working round the clock to provide help to the people in this natural calamity.
