President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed the need to train the youth in various skills, especially in information technology sector, to enable them to contribute to progress and prosperity of the country.

Virtually addressing the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America, he said the digital skills programme in Pakistan has imparted skills to 2.4 million youth and enabled them to enter the job market.

Talking about foreign relations, the President said Pakistan cooperated with international community in the war against terrorism, but now its policy has shifted from geostrategic to geo-economics.

He said Central Asian countries want trade with Pakistan and Gwadar port will play an important part in enhancing regional trade.
