The Senate met briefly at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday with Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani in the chair.
At the outset, the treasury and opposition benches indulged in a verbal clash.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar asked the PTI leaders to review and correct their conduct. He said the PTI leadership should do some soul searching instead of desecrating the Parliament.
Leader of Opposition Shahzad Waseem was critical of the government's policies and alluded to the increase in the prices of gas.
Later, the chair prorogued the session without taking up the agenda of the day.
