Successful CBMs with India only possible after resolving Kashmir issue: Masood

AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has said that successful Confidence Building Measures with India would only be possible if the issue of Kashmir is resolved according to the political will of the Kashmiri people. He was addressing a book launching ceremony at National Defence University in Islamabad today.

President said that CBMs will only be successful if Pakistan and India resolve their core issues which include the core of Kashmir. He said that India has not even accepted the partition of the Sub-Continent and creation of Pakistan. Sardar Masood Khan reiterated that CBMs are not a solution towards peace but rather a means to maintain peace.

He said Pakistan is investing in peace and creating an environment of conflict resolution through constructive dialogue while India is substituting conflict resolution with CBMs, maintaining the status quo in Kashmir and diverting the attention of the general population and the world from the Kashmir issue.

Sardar Masood Khan said that bilateral talks have never yielded any substantial results as India has relegated core issues like Kashmir to low-priority agenda items.
