UN expresses concern over newly passed nation-state law by Israel’s parliament

United Nations has expressed concern over newly passed nation-state law by Israel's parliament as discrimination against country's Arab minority.

Talking to a daily press briefing, UN spokesman, Farhan Haq emphasized need for all states to adhere to universal human rights principles including protection of minority rights.

Haq called on all parties to refrain from unilateral moves that undermine Palestinian-Israeli solution.

He said a negotiated two-state outcome of Palestinian-Israeli conflict in line with UN resolutions is only way to achieve enduring peace that resolves all permanent-status issues.
