The government has decided to include Khawja Sara (transgender) in Benazir Kafalat Program.
This decision was taken by the Board of Benazir Income Support Program under the leadership of Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Chairperson BISP Shazia Marri.
On the occasion, the Minister said transgenders are also a part of the society and it is the responsibility of the government to take care of them.
She said, in order to benefit from the program, transgenders should first update their gender in their identity cards from NADRA.
Shazia Marri said after updating their gender status from NADRA, transgenders can get them registered at BISP tehsil offices.
On successful registration, the applicant will receive a message from the 8171 and will be paid 7000 rupees per quarter.
